Strong affection for God, rooted in and shaped by the truth of Scripture - this is the bone and marrow of biblical worship.
— John Piper

I don't have words to describe how you blessed me last Sunday morning!  The choir and orchestra started the day with "Every Praise" - and you looked and sounded like you were declaring the message of your heart!  "Majesty," "Great Is the Lord Almighty," all the songs were such a blessing as the congregation joined.  Then the pastor shared that marvelous story of Jehoshaphat and reminded us that worship is what it's all about.  Jennifer blessed our hearts with "I Will Exalt."  Then Goliath lost his head and God got the victory in the morning message.  What a glorious day!

This Sunday we'll begin with the choir singing "Crowd the Gates."  We'll be singing "A Mighty Fortress," "Across the Lands," "Great Are You Lord" and other great songs of praise as well.  We'll also introduce a new song, "Lion and the Lamb" at the end of the service this week.....I think you're going to enjoy singing and playing it.  Looking ahead, we are planning to sing "Your Great Name" on Sunday, February 5 and "Never Once" on February 12.  I hope you'll fill the choir loft!

I'm excited about the opportunity to host Night of Praise 3 at our church on May 21.  The choirs and orchestras of FBC Longview and Woodland Hills BC will be joining us for a great night of worship.  Please pray as we work out the details - there will be a lot to do to make room for that many people in the choir and orchestra as well as providing a meal for the Sunday evening event.  Our first two times together were just awesome, and I believe this time will be as well.
