Without worship we go about miserable.
— A.W. Tozer

We had a great time last Sunday in worship!  It was such a joy to have our childrens praise team, "4 Praise," leading the way at the beginning of the service.  They did such a wonderful job helping to lead our worship times in VBS last week.  Then, what a thrill it was to have Bro. Mark Fried in our morning service last Sunday singing "O What A Savior."  He is a great friend, and I was so blessed to have him come to our church while he was on vacation.  Our pastor continued to challenge and bless with the sermon series LIVING IN A NEW REALITY....hey, he even quoted Dr. Seuss last Sunday!

Next Sunday we will begin our service with a patriotic emphasis.  Our orchestra will play "God Bless America" to begin the service.  We'll see a video called "The Greatness of America," and then the choir will sing "My Country Tis of Thee."  I'd love to see every seat in the choir filled to sing that great song with the big ending!  Pastor will continue the sermon series with a message called "A New Victory" - I can't wait.

I'd like to ask you to pray for a couple of upcoming events.  We'll begin this week to publicize our Old Fashioned Singin' on Aug. 28.  We'll have song lists at the welcome center and in the choir room where you can vote for your favorite old time gospel songs.  We'll compile our top ten and sing them at the Aug. 28 event.  Also, the East Mountain Gospel Bluegrass band will be with us to share some great music.  We love those folks and can't wait to hear them sing and play again.  I'd also like for the choir to sing two or three songs including the "Old Tyme Church Medley."  Put it on your calendar and plan to be with us.  Also, will you begin to pray for our mission team that will be going to Kalispell, MT Aug. 7-13.  Twelve of our church members, including six choir members will travel there for a week to do some remodeling and painting for the Buckner's.  Please pray for safety, for provision and that we might have a fruitful time of ministry.
