What a day last Sunday was! The orchestra did a great job playing "10,000 Reasons" to begin a wonderful day of worship. It was good to have our pastor home from vacation and begin a great new series called LIVING IN A NEW REALITY. Cindy Kulak blessed our hearts singing "I Am Not Alone" - the Lord was at work in our service. Then, in the afternoon we traveled to Woodland Hills Baptist Church for rehearsal and dinner and a great night of worship with two other churches. What a sound! And what a great time of fellowship and worship it was with that great mass choir and orchestra. My, it was awesome hearing you sing "Lord, You're Holy"....and Julie, knocked it out of the park! I just want to say thanks again to all of you who took the time to participate by playing or singing for that memorable event. The Lord was lifted up, and our hearts were encouraged and blessed as well.
This Sunday we will celebrate Mother's Day with a time for the dedication of children in our morning service. Our childrens choir will begin the service this week singing "Hallowed Be Thy Name." Pastor will continue the new sermon series with a message from I John 2. I hope you are taking advantage of the new resource that he spoke of last Sunday - the "3-D" readings and discussion questions will be available in our bulletin each week during this series. This can be used for personal daily readings or for family devotional time. Also, just a reminder that we will not have our regular Sunday evening service this summer....and that would be a great time to use the 3-D materials with your family or perhaps a small group that may gather for fellowship and study. I believe you will be blessed by the time you spend applying the Sunday messages in this way. By the way, the following week, May 15, is Pentecost Sunday - orchestra will play "Hallelujah We Shall Rise" and our choir will sing "Lord You're Holy" once again.
New music for the summer is ready! Pick up your cd from the resource table in the choir room and start listening to some old favorites like "Let It Rise" and "He'd Still Been God" along with new songs for congregational worship like "Good Good Father" and "Ever Be." I'm looking forward to sharing some great times in worship as we introduce these songs to our church in coming days. It's going to be a great summer of praise!
