Show me a church that loves the gospel and that loves each other and I’ll show you a church that loves to sing.
— Travis Cottrell

Awesome!  That's the only way I know to describe last Sunday.  Our Pentecost celebration was a glorious time of rejoicing - our orchestra did a great job opening the day with "Hallelujah We Shall Rise."  The congregational singing was remarkable - especially as we sang "We Will Remember."  Ladies from the SonShine Lighthouse came and shared a testimony of the grace of God in that wonderful ministry in New London.  Then the choir joined Julie in sharing "Lord, You're Holy" - oh my, what a tremendous moment that was!  I don't believe I've ever heard you sing better, or with more passion, than that.  Pastor preached the Word with power and the Lord was lifted up.  Then we made our way to the gym for a great time of fellowship as we shared a meal.  It was such a blessing to see the new gym floor under the new lights.  I'm so grateful for the good work Charlotte did preparing our "Look What God Has Done" placemats for the lunch.  It was good to be reminded of the many things the Lord has done in our midst this past year.  If you did not get to see those, we have some in the choir room and some in the welcome center.  During our lunch, the pastor announced that over $15,000 had been given for the ministry of the SonShine Lighthouse.  What a blessing!  It was such a wonderful Lord's Day - and I believe next Sunday will be just as good!

Next Sunday we'll begin the day with the choir singing "Yes I Am."  We'll also be introducing "Good Good Father" to our church as well as singing some great songs and hymns we love.  I'm looking forward to lifting up praise with the family of God.  As you know, we are not having our regular Sunday night services from May through the first week of August, but we are asking you to take the insert in your Sunday bulletin (it is also on the website each week) for discussion and daily readings.  These will help you take the message from Sunday and apply it as the Lord speaks to you the coming week.
