O Holy Spirit, descend plentifully into my heart. Enlighten the dark corners of this neglected dwelling and scatter there Thy cheerful beams.
— Augustine

I love Pentecost Sunday!  It's one of my favorite days of the year.....celebrating the coming of the Holy Spirit, rejoicing, remembering and giving as the Lord has blessed us.  I can't wait to gather with the family at FBC this coming Sunday as we celebrate this very special day.  Our orchestra will begin the day playing "Hallelujah, We Shall Rise."  The choir will sing one of our all time favorites, "Lord, You're Holy."  It's a big choir song, so let's fill every seat in the choir loft and raise the roof with praise.  We'll be taking a special Pentecost offering as we traditionally do during our morning service.  This year, the offering will go to help the ministry of SonShine Lighthouse, a transitional ministry for women in New London.  This is a wonderful program that helps ladies and their children get on track and established physically, spiritually, emotionally and materially.  Some of those who are involved in that program will be with us this Sunday and will share what the Lord is doing.  We'll also continue the LIVING IN A NEW REALITY sermon series that our pastor began two weeks ago - and what a great series it is!  Don't forget, we'll share a fellowship meal in the gym following the morning service - bring enough for your family and a couple more and be ready to enjoy a great time with the church family.  What a day it's going to be!

I hope you have a copy of the Summer 2016 choir or orchestra cd.  We have a number of new songs, along with some old friends on tap for the next few months.  This would be a great time to take a cd to someone you know and invite them to join us in making music for our Lord!
