God is the King of all the earth; Sing praise with understanding.
— Psalm 47:7

My day today began with Psalm 47, one of my favorites.  It starts with, "Clap your hands, all ye people, shout unto God with the voice of triumph."  It is a great Psalm of praise to our Great God.  In the same chapter I found these words, "God is the King of all the earth: Sing praise with understanding. God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham.  For the shields of the earth belong to God - He is greatly exalted."  Did you catch that line...."Sing praise with understanding?"  It is a directive, but also a wonderfully liberating command.  We see elections, and job situations, and family struggles, etc., but God sees His plan taking perfect shape in just the right way at just the right time.  So how do we react to the things that cause us worry and strife?  Greet it with praise!  Recognize that God, the true King of all the earth is directing the affairs of men with His masterful hand and nothing will come to pass for us that is not first sifted through His hands of love.  That should free us from worry and fear, and set us free to behold His beauty and worship his majesty.

You did such a great job sharing the beautiful song "If My People Will Pray" last Sunday.  We had a great number in the choir and the sound was wonderful.  Our orchestra also did a splendid job - great trombone trio!  Now I'm looking forward to this Sunday when we start the day with the choir singing "I'm Standing on the Rock."  We'll have a special time of prayer for the Operation Christmas Child boxes that we'll be sending out.  The testimonies we've heard the last two Sundays remind us that those boxes are often used by God to change lives and help bring people into the Kingdom.  What a joy it is to be a part of a church that desires to partner with the work of God around the world.

It's hard to believe that Advent actually begins in just over two weeks.  I am so pleased of the work you are doing in preparation for our CHRISTMAS WITH KERON night of worship on December 11.  Charlotte has done a splendid job getting some promotional cards and posters ready for us to use in inviting people to join us for this event.  I hope you'll take some of those and ask people you know to join us for what I believe will be a life changing night.  Pray for our choir and orchestra, pray for Keron, pray for those who need to hear this story of hope.
