Praise is our ever new delight; let us baptize the new year into a sea of it.
— C.H. Spurgeon - January 1, 1885

Happy New Year!  2016 is off to a great start, and I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us.  We had an amazing time in worship last Sunday with the orchestra beginning our service with an outstanding call to worship, "When the Saints Go Marching In."  The singing was great, the fellowship was sweet and the preaching was marvelous....hey, the pastor even got in a little singing during the message!  The Lord has been so good to us, and I believe we are in for great things this year.

Next Sunday we'll begin the day with a choir favorite, "We Have Come Into this House."  I hope we have every seat in the choir loft filled.  New music for Spring is ready and the new cd's for both choir and orchestra are available on the resource table.  Get yours now and start listening to the great songs we're going to be singing.  I think you're going to enjoy some new songs like "Crowd the Gates,"  "Not for a Moment,"  and "Never Once" along with some songs we've sung in the past like "Written in Red" and "Be Unto Your Name."  Also, mark your calendars for Sunday night, May 1 when we will join other churches in our area for Night of Praise II at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview.  Last year's event was a tremendous time for us and I know this time around will also be a great blessing.

Our pastor will begin a new sermon series this week called "PRIORITIES."  Over the next 12 weeks, he'll cover a number of things that are "priorities" for us as a church....baptism, missions, preaching, worship, and many others.  I'm praying that the Lord will renew in our hearts the vision He has given us to be the Church and to reach our area with the glorious message of the gospel.
